A personal strategic plan is your guide to successfully achieving your desired end result. Strategy is more than bullet points on paper for a short term solution. It is your long term direction and scope to gain an edge with the use of resources in challenging scenarios in order to fulfill the needs of your career and life while meeting the expectations of the project you wish to book.

Career and life are interconnected in developing your personal strategy. This process is a controlled though process that will guide you into becoming the person that you would like to be. It will lay down rules for how and what you do, when you do it, and why. Each decision leading you closer to your goal, but also allowing room for growth.

“Failing to plan is planning to fail.”

How many times have we heard this old adage? By nature we are creative individuals who are fueled by our dreams and aspirations. However, it does take more than having a strong desire, determination and training to make it in entertainment.

"At the end of the day we are accountable to ourselves - our success is a result of what we do." – Catherine Pulsifer

Scenario

You save up enough money to relocate to Los Angeles to pursue your dreams.

Your moving day is two weeks away and you’ve already identified the neighborhood you can afford and have already started to apply for part-time jobs online.

A rush of adrenaline fuels you as you step off the plane at LAX and Uber to your new apartment to meet the new roommates you have only met on WhatsApp.

Result

After a few days you realize your living situation is zapping all of your creative energy and the job that you thought you had did not come through.

This is not what you envisioned – what do you do next?
