One of the most important lessons you can learn both personally and professionally is Time-Management. This skill allows to you clear space mentally and physically to focus on your tasks and goals, daily.
Common Mistake
Underestimating is a common mistake. We underestimate how long it will take to get from point A to B, how much food we take in when we are trying to get in shape, how much supplies we need to complete a project. However, this can be particularly detrimental when plotting out your career in the industry as you cannot compete at your highest level without the proper resources.
Scenario
You have a big audition coming up, but you are busy with work and you can’t find a good LA/NY acting coach to get the coaching needed for these types of auditions. And to make matters worse you had your friend take your headshots because you couldn’t find the right headshot photographer. You arrive to the audition in your work clothing and you look nothing like what the role is asking for. The audition doesn’t go well. What did you expect would happen? You completely underestimated what you needed to do to compete at the highest level, and you were grossly unprepared.
"If the script's good, everything you need is in there. I just try and feel it, and so it honestly." – Olivia Colman
