Here is the truth: Acting is harder than it appears. There are several schools and methods of acting, and skills must been honed with natural talent. Even the greatest actors continue to train and practice their skills throughout their careers.

Practice, practice, practice.

However, the quality of practice is related to the quality of coaching. Lacking professional training can quickly derail your aspirations faster than a tweet. Casting directors, agents and producers are unforgiving and will not give second chances to talent that is not well-trained.

Questions to ask yourself:

Are you well-coached?

Is your audition on par with an agency’s most successful clients and working actors?

How is your improv ability?

Do you have two strong monologues (comedic and dramatic)?

How often are you in classes? How strong is your cold reading ability?
